LifeShare Blood Center is a non-profit agency that has been dedicated to conducting blood donation campaigns and supplying blood components to medical facilities since 1942. Founded in Shreveport, LA, LifeShare serves the communities of Louisiana, east Texas, and southern Arkansas. Supplying to approximately 100 medical facilities, it operates as a community service provider governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees. LifeShare is licensed by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration, accredited by AABB, and is an active member of America’s Blood Centers and the American Rare Donor Program. Among its specialized services, the Immunohematology Reference Laboratory (IRL) is one of only 66 AABB accredited IRLs globally and provides rare blood types. Additionally, the organization boasts one of just six AABB accredited molecular labs in the world, offering advanced scientific support services and specialized testing to resolve complex compatibility issues.
