We are the behavioral health community organization responsible for the delivery of mental health, substance abuse treatment coordination, and developmental disabilities services for Kent County. We need individuals who are passionate about making a difference by helping others. We are seeking a Registered Nurse responsible for direct care and support for clients with serious mental illness and substance use disorders for our ACT team. This position is 40 hours a week, primarily Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, some evenings/weekends may be required as well as participation in rotating on call shifts This assignment is in person at 1131 Ionia Ave NW Grand Rapids, Michigan 49503. The person in the role will also travel within the community on a daily basis. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Registered Nurse Degree Licensed to practice as a registered nurse In MichiganFor ACT Team: Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for job related use including transporting of clientsKnowledge of biological factors in mental illnessKnowledge and understanding of psychiatric medicationsKnowledge of clinic procedures and practicesKnowledge of State and Federal laws regarding privacy and HIPAAKnowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology in a mental health settingKnowledge and ability to work within the American Nurses’ Association Standards of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing practiceCPR certificationAbility to work independently and make independent judgments and decisions based on professional knowledgeLived experiences with mental illness/developmental disabilities/substance use disorders valuedComputer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, database management, data entry, and emailAbility to communicate clearly and concisely with clients and in stressful situationsExcellent communication skills, both verbal and written Spanish/English bilingual preferred Job interviews are being conducted in person.
