Acute Care Nurse Practitioner-Pediatric Surgery and UrologyJob CategoryProfessional ScheduleFull time Shift1 - Day Shift TMCOne along with Arizona Pediatric Surgery & Urology are currently recruiting for an acute care nurse practitioner to provide excellent care to the children of Tucson and Southern Arizona. This is a clinic and hospital based role where the hours will vary. This role would be to support the surgical portion of the practice as opposed to the urology side. There are no call requirements for this role. A qualified candidate will also perform the following: -obtain patient history and perform physical exam and retroperitoneal ultrasound when indicated (training will be provided) -evaluate new patients with operative and non-operative pediatric urology concerns (hydronephrosis, UTI, kidney stones, incontinence, train patients how to catheterize themselves, train patients on stoma care, etc) -manage follow up patients who have non-operative pediatric urology conditions (incontinence, UTI, etc) -train percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation procedures and perform/manage those patients -train in neonatal circumcision and perform/manage those patients -assist in pre and post op care for pediatric urology patients MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION: Master’s degree in Nursing or related area, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of related experience, but experience in this field as an RN is a plus! LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION: National certification as a Nurse Practitioner or must be National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner eligible, must become credentialed at TMC through the Professional Staffing Office prior to appointment. Must have and maintain a current Arizona state license as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner including prescriptive authority. Must obtain and maintain a current Federal Drug Enforcement Agency License for prescribing controlled substances. Must obtain and maintain current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); for Mental Health only Crisis Prevention Instruction (CPI) required.
