As a Registered Nurse at MercyOne, you will provide and direct safe, effective, and culturally competent care for patients with acute medical and surgical conditions. Through evidence-based practice, utilizes critical thinking to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate outcome-based care. The Acute Care RN manages a diverse patient population with varying levels of acuity, including post-operative, medical, telemetry, and neurologic patients. Supervises and coordinates care provided by LPNs, Patient Care Assistants, and other nursing team members. Facilitates communication with physicians, patients and families, and interdisciplinary team members. Adheres to MercyOne’s performance expectations and upholds the Mission, Vision, and Values of MercyOne.Essential Functions:Conducts assessmentIdentifies patient problems and develops plan of careImplements outcome/goal - based plan of careEvaluates patient progress and revises the outcome/goal - based plan as neededCommunicates relevant clinical information to the team to optimize patient outcomes/goalsDemonstrates clinical competenceManages telemetry and cardiac monitoring when applicableProvides care appropriate to the age-related needs of the patients served on his/her assigned unitAdheres to all safety, infection control and colleague health policies and proceduresMaintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior.Schedule: Weekend Package - Friday, Saturday, SundayDay Shift, .9 FTE (36 hours per week)Day shift: 7:00 am – 7:00 pm, Night shift: 7:00 pm – 7:00 am Minimum Qualifications:Associate degree in nursing requiredBachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferredRegistered Nurse in IowaAmerican Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) requiredAmerican Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required only if the unit has telemetry monitoring capabilitiesProof of completion of Mandatory Reporter – Child and/or Dependent Adult Abuse training within three (3) months of hireColleagues of MercyOne Health System enjoy competitive compensation with a full benefits package and opportunity for growth throughout the system!Our Commitment Rooted in our Mission and Core Values, we honor the dignity of every person and recognize the unique perspectives, experiences, and talents each colleague brings.
