Job Description

• Deliver essential nursing care, including blood pressure monitoring, catheter insertion, and providing comfort through tasks like changing and dressing wounds.
• Maintain accurate and ongoing assessments of patient status, documenting care provided, patient responses, needs, problems, capabilities, limitations, and progress toward health goals.
• Effectively communicate with RNs and physicians regarding patient needs, ensuring collaborative efforts among healthcare teams to enhance patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and their significant others with timely health information and distribute relevant written materials.
• Administer direct patient care by following established procedures, policies, and standards, ensuring quality care at all times.
• Prepare and administer medications in accordance with policies, carefully observing and documenting patient responses.
• Demonstrate professionalism in emergency situations with prompt and precise actions.
• Manage the admission, transfer, and discharge processes for residents.
• Assist with administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, and evaluations.
• Receive and document phone orders from physicians accurately on the Physician's Order Form.
• Report and document any accidents or incidents involving residents, adhering to established protocols.
• Verify resident identity prior to administering medications or treatments to ensure safety.
• Maintain adequate supplies and equipment, promptly reporting needs to the Director of Nursing.
• Keep accurate narcotic records for your shift and notify the Director of Nursing regarding any discrepancies.
• Provide thorough and concise reports at shift changes, communicating vital information to the appropriate individuals promptly.
• Perform all responsibilities following safety and infection control policies, including hand hygiene and proper disposal of materials.
• Follow established protocols concerning exposure to blood and body fluids.
• Utilize equipment safely and appropriately, adhering to product guidelines and instructions.
