River Park Hospital, a 165-bed facility and a leader in behavioral health care, located in Huntington, WV has an opening for a PRN RN Crisis Nurse. River Park provides acute inpatient services to children, adolescents, adults and seniors and features a 22-bed residential treatment program for children and adolescents and a 25-bed adult forensic unit. Qualifications Summary of Core Job Functions: Responsible for answering referral/crisis calls. Provides assessments and completes admission process, including precertification. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential core function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, experience, and ability necessary to perform this job. Essential Core Functions: 1. Answers/processes referral calls. 2. Completes triage/admission assessments. 3. Admission of patients, including precertification. 4. Provides information about community services for patients who do not meet admission criteria. 5. Provides back-up for receptionist and other staff as needed. Job Specifications: 1. Education, Certification/Licensure, and/or Experience a. Valid WV RN license b. Minimum of 2 years experience. Psychiatric preferred. Knowledge, skills, and abilities required: a. Good oral communication skills. b. Clinical/assessment skills. c. Ability to effectively handle referral calls. d. Knowledge of community resources. e. Ability to define problems, collect information, draw valid conclusions. f. Computer skills. g. Customer service skills. h. Ability to work with staff and physicians.
