7 North Inpatient Psychiatry | Psychiatric Emergency Services (Wilmington & Newark) | Behavioral Health Rapid Response Teams (Wilmington & Newark) Primary Shift: Overnights Schedule: Flexible hours with shared 24/7 leadership accountability ChristianaCare is seeking a dynamic, motivated Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) to support multiple Behavioral Health service areas across inpatient, emergency, and rapid response settings. This role is primarily overnight and is critical to ensuring safe, high-quality care and strong clinical leadership during off-shift hours. The Assistant Nurse Manager partners closely with the Nurse Manager and another Assistant Nurse Manager to provide continuous 24/7 operational, clinical, and leadership oversight across: • 7 North – Inpatient Psychiatry • Psychiatric Emergency Services (Wilmington & Newark) • Behavioral Health Rapid Response Teams (Wilmington & Newark) This is an ideal opportunity for a nurse leader who thrives in complex environments, enjoys supporting teams during high-acuity situations, and is passionate about providing compassionate, patient-centered care. Key Responsibilities • Provide clinical and operational leadership during overnight hours across assigned Behavioral Health service lines • Serve as an on-site leadership resource for nursing and interdisciplinary teams • Support patient safety, staff engagement, and regulatory compliance • Assist with staffing coordination, real-time problem-solving, and escalation of clinical or operational concerns • Promote a culture of professional practice, accountability, and respect • Support quality initiatives, staff development, and performance improvement efforts • Collaborate with the Nurse Manager and ANM team to ensure seamless 24/7 leadership coverage • Participate in leadership decision-making beyond scheduled hours as part of shared accountability Qualifications Required: • RN licensure in the State of Delaware or compact state • BSN - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. If no BSN, a Master's degree in nursing is required. • Master’s Degree in a nursing, healthcare or business management field required or currently enrolled to be obtained within 5 years of promotion into position. • Professional certification in a related nursing specialty required. • BLS Certification required. • 3-5 years appropriate clinical and leadership experience in area or specialty. Preferred (but not required): • Behavioral Health experience • Emergency, critical care, or other acute care experience • Prior charge nurse or informal leadership experience Behavioral Health experience is not required. Candidates with strong clinical backgrounds, leadership potential, and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply. Comprehensive onboarding and support will be provided. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
