Your Responsibilities as a Behavioral Health RN Include:
• Conducting thorough assessments of the physical, emotional, and behavioral health of pediatric and adolescent patients.
• Creating and implementing individualized nursing care plans aligned with assessed needs and treatment objectives.
• Administering medications safely, including psychotropic medications, while monitoring effects and potential side effects.
• Utilizing crisis intervention strategies, de-escalation techniques, and trauma-informed care.
• Leading therapeutic groups, skills training, and psychoeducation sessions.
• Accurately observing and documenting patient behaviors, symptoms, progress, and treatment responses.
• Ensuring a safe and structured environment through effective behavior management strategies.
• Collaborating closely with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other direct care staff to support treatment plans.
• Maintaining open, compassionate communication with patients' families or guardians.
• Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings, case reviews, and care conferences.
• Ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and patient rights standards.
• Addressing safety concerns promptly and contributing to unit safety planning.
• Completing detailed documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Educating patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and coping strategies.
• Providing emotional support and acting as an advocate for patient needs.

Qualifications:
• Associate Degree in Nursing.
• State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License.
• BLS certification REQUIRED upon hire.
• Behavioral Health Experience preferred.
