Position Title: Cardiac Care Registered Nurse (RN) Location - Kansas City, MO Shift Availability: • Days and Nights • Rotating weekends • Job Summary The Cardiac Care Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care to patients with complex cardiac conditions. This role supports patients recovering from advanced cardiac and cardiovascular procedures in a fast-paced, high-acuity telemetry environment. The position offers strong opportunities for clinical growth and advancement in cardiac and critical care nursing. • About the Unit • Comprehensive cardiac telemetry and cardiac care unit • Patient population includes individuals recovering from: • Open heart surgery • Cardiac catheterization with stent placement • Ablations • Pacemaker and AICD implantation • Cardiovascular surgical procedures • Recognized as a comprehensive stroke and STEMI-capable service line • Team-oriented, collaborative environment • Fast-paced unit with a strong focus on problem-solving and clinical excellence • Ongoing advancement in knowledge and skills related to critically ill cardiac patients • Key Responsibilities • Coordinate and deliver patient-centered nursing care under the direction of nursing leadership. • Assume accountability and responsibility for the delivery of safe, effective nursing care. • Provide nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, nursing practice acts, and professional standards. • Monitor patient condition, recognize changes in cardiac status, and intervene appropriately. • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes. • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care. • Qualifications • Minimum 1 year of acute care cardiac nursing experience or closely related experience preferred. • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required. • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state or compact). • BLS certification required upon hire. • ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire. • Basic computer proficiency required. • Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills. • Previous clinical experience preferred but not required.
