Compensation

• Location: Phoenix, AZ 85008 (Arizona nursing jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Critical Care Stepdown Unit
• Assignment Type: Travel Nurse Contract
• Start Date: December 15, 2025
• End Date: March 16, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night Shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Ratio: 1:4 (Days, Nights, Weekends)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: Yes, within nursing scope
• Orientation: 12 hours Registered Nurse Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Cardiac Stepdown, Progressive Care Unit (PCU), or similar clinical setting
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Arizona or compact state)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Epic charting experience
• Experience in MS/Tele, Telemetry, Cardiac Telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
• First-time travel nurses welcome! Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
• Provide feeding tube care and management
• Pre/Post hemodialysis management and renal failure care
• Initiate IVs, manage peripheral and central lines, and PICC line care
• Administer heparin protocols and manage cardiac/vasoactive drips (no titration)
• Provide PCA and procedural sedation administration
• Care for surgical drains, ventilated patients, tracheostomies, and chest tubes
• Utilize external CPAP/BIPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and interpret ABGs
• Perform non-invasive airway management and wound care/wound vac
• Follow isolation precautions and infection control protocols
• Float to other nursing units within scope as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Social Services
