Summary:
Join our dedicated team as a Cardiology Cath Registered Nurse where you will play a vital role in providing both routine and complex care to patients. As a competent nurse, you will work independently and exhibit a comprehensive understanding of patient needs. Take charge of your clinical practice as you help manage patient care with long-range goals in mind and facilitate the delegation of responsibilities to enhance the care process.
Responsibilities:
• Demonstrate leadership qualities in alignment with the OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Follow the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice to provide nursing care through the complete nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Address diverse and complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with your practice level.
• Administer medications and treatments following appropriate protocols while monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
• Document patient history accurately, including symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and deliver education to patients, family members, and caregivers while identifying resource issues and solutions.
Job Requirements:
Education/Skills
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
Experience
• At least 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred, though new graduates are welcome to apply.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
• BLS required.
• Current RN License in the state of employment or compact.
Position Requirements:
Education/Skills
• Newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.
• New hires will be precepted by a designated trained staff member, with an initial onboarding process that includes completion of the designated organizational entry competency and a Critical Care Department-specific competency validation.
• Enrollment in all annual competency verification requirements is mandatory.
Experience
• One year of experience in a Critical Care setting preferred; new graduates will be considered for the role.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
• Current ACLS certification is required.
All Associates are required to meet the necessary certifications for their position within the designated timeframe as per CHRISTUS Health policy.
Credential Grace Periods:
• Candidates with at least one year of acute care clinical experience in a similar service line within the past three years are considered Experienced Associates.
• Candidates who do not meet this experience criterion are considered Experienced Associates New to the Specialty.
