The E4 Cardiology Telemetry unit is a dedicated 28-bed area that serves as the central cardiac monitoring hub for our inpatient floors. JOB SUMMARY
As a Registered Nurse, you will exhibit clinical competence by effectively utilizing the nursing process, establishing a synergistic nurse-patient relationship, and demonstrating your commitment to patient care. You will assess and identify patient needs, create a comprehensive plan of care, implement interventions, and evaluate patient outcomes.
Qualifications:
• Graduation from an accredited Nursing Program; BSN is preferred.
• One (1) year of RN experience or completion of the Backus Hospital Nurse Residency Program; two (2) or more years of experience in cardiology is preferred.
• Current unrestricted RN license in good standing in the State of Connecticut.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
• Must acquire and maintain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications within 90 days of hire. Passing the dysrhythmia test within 3 months of hire is essential.
• Must achieve a score of 80% or better on the BKAT or complete a critical care course within one (1) year of hire.
• Ability to obtain and hold department-specific certifications.
