
Cardiovascular Intensive Care Nurse (RN) | Volcano, Hawaii in Mauna Loa Estates, HI
Job Description
Deliver compassionate, specialized nursing care in a Progressive Care Unit situated in beautiful Volcano, HI. This contract position offers an opportunity to apply your acute care skills in a dynamic setting that includes a 15-bed unit composed of 3 step-down ICU beds and 12 telemetry beds. The role requires acute attention to detail and proficiency in telemetry monitoring to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes.

Responsibilities:
• Provide primary nursing care to progressive care and step-down ICU patients.
• Monitor telemetry and interpret telemetry strips accurately.
• Perform routine procedures such as fingerstick blood sugar testing.
• Utilize Meditech for charting and Pyxis for medication management.
• Operate equipment including BIPAP and continuous cardiac monitoring systems.
• Float to various acute care units as needed, including medical, surgical/pediatrics, ICU, and ER.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
• Minimum 1 year hospital acute care experience within the last 12 months.
• Preferred experience in progressive care and telemetry monitoring.
• Current State of Hawaii RN license required by start date.
• ACLS certification preferred; PALS and NIHSS certifications are a plus.
• Ability to float across multiple acute care units with flexibility.
Schedule:
• Scheduled for 36 hours per week after orientation.
• No call responsibilities.
• Must arrive Thursday before start date for employee health appointment.
Additional Requirements:
• Must have an active Hawaii RN license by assignment start.
• Dress code: scrubs.
