
Cardiovascular Intensive Care RN | Waunakee, Wisconsin in Dane, WI
Job Description
Provide expert nursing care in a specialized pediatric critical care environment, supporting critically ill or injured children and their families. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to work in a nationally recognized pediatric medical and surgical center featuring advanced technology and a warm, family-centered atmosphere.
Location
Positioned in the vibrant Madison area near Waunakee, WI, this opportunity is within a respected Magnet-designated childrens hospital known for its Level One Pediatric Trauma Center and Level IV NICU. Madison offers a dynamic community with abundant cultural events, dining, parks, and outdoor activities, enhancing work-life balance for healthcare professionals.
Schedule/Hours
• Evening/Night shifts, 12-hour (7:00pm 7:30am)
• Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required
Responsibilities
• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients with medical and surgical needs including acute neurological disorders, pulmonary diseases, cardiac anomalies, organ transplants, multi-organ failure, and ECMO.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide family-centered care in a 21-bed pediatric intensive care unit.
• Float between units as needed based on staffing requirements and organizational needs within the facility.
• Utilize EPIC electronic medical record system for patient documentation and care coordination.
Qualifications / Desired Experience
• Registered Nurse with Wisconsin RN license or compact licensure from your permanent address state.
• Minimum 3 years of acute care experience within the last three years; strong Pediatric ICU experience and at least 1 year of cardiovascular experience required. Equivalent strong Level II experience considered.
• Recent EPIC experience (within past 12 months) required.
• Current American Heart Association BLS and PALS certifications mandatory.
• Basic Arrhythmia recognition skills required with willingness to pass Telemetry test before starting.
• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing preferred.
• Eligible candidates must reside within 50 miles of the facility.
