+ **Schedule:** Part Time, flexible 8 hour shifts 4 days a week, 1 evening shift per week, and 1 Saturday per month

+ **Salary:** $37.15 - $52.44 per hour

_This role will function as the Outpatient RN Diabetes Educator and ADA Program Coordinator at Ascension Saint Alexius_

• *Responsibilities**

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate educational activities planning for an assigned service or population.

+ Collaborate with nurse managers and staff to assess the learning needs and competencies of staff.

+ Develop, implement, and evaluate educational plans/programs and utilizes methods, measurements and tools to evaluate achievement of learning goals.

+ Serve as a resource for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development.

+ Participate in the coordination and continuity of orientation programs, including preceptor programs.
• *Requirements**

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

+ Registered Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or jobtransfer date required.

+ Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

+ BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

+ Educator specializing in Diabetes Management credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.

Education:

+ Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time ofhire.
• *Additional Preferences**

+ Registered Nurse with CDCES (Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist)

+ Outpatient RN experience strongly preferred

+ Must be organized and willing to learn requirements to maintain ADA recognition for two sites

+ RN with experience in group setting and individual counseling

+ Communicates effectively
