4-East Medical Surgical Unit Opportunity
Unit Description 4-East is a complex and fast-paced 33-bed Medical Surgical unit that specializes in the care of oncology patients. Our goal on 4-East is to provide exceptional nursing care with a caring and compassionate focus while allowing the patients their dignity during their stay with us. We take a holistic approach to our care not only to include the patient, but the family, and other caregivers to the patient as well. We collaborate with other departments using a multidisciplinary approach to ensure that our patients get the best, most efficient and quality care. Our nurses have the opportunity and are encouraged to become chemotherapy certified as well as obtain other national certifications such a medical surgical and oncology nurse certification. CNAs are responsible for providing basic patient care under the supervision of a nurse. The duties generally include observing patients, recording vital signs, performing EKGs, and reporting changes in patient conditions.
Qualifications:
• Applicant has completed Nurse Aide course and presents Nurse Aide Certification. PCA or PCT certification also acceptable
• Must maintain a current BLS certification from American Heart Association
• Nursing student who has completed approximately one quarter of their nursing curriculum (LVN or RN) and clinical experience Or applicant has at least one year of previous/recent hospital Nurse Aide experience.
• Must maintain a current BLS certification from American Heart Association
