SUMMARY: Join the Orthopedic/Med-Surg Trauma Team If youre a registered nurse (RN) looking for a dynamic and supportive environment where you can make a real difference, the North Kansas City Hospital Orthopedic/Med-Surg Trauma Unit is the place to be. With cutting-edge procedures, strong interdisciplinary collaboration, and a commitment to excellence, we offer a workplace where youll be challenged, supported, and inspired every day. We perform 80-100 elective procedures per week, including total hip and knee replacements, spinal fusions, discectomies, shoulder replacements, and more. We also care for trauma patients in their med/surg recovery phase, treating injuries from motor vehicle accidents, falls, gunshot wounds, and other emergencies. We hold Advanced Certification in Total Hip and Knee Joint Replacement through The Joint Commission and are actively pursuing Advanced Certification for Spine Surgery. Supportive Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: 1:5 on days, 1:6 on nights, with dedicated techs for patient support and charge nurses who are not in staffing. Our nurses work directly with 40+ orthopedic surgeons and their residents, playing an integral role in shaping patient care plans and policies. SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Nurse Director coordinate care provided by the staff for patients and families. EXPERIENCE: Two years of med/surg experience. OTHER: Basic computer skills LICENSE/CERT: Required: RN (Registered Nurse) State of Missouri, BLS (Basic Life Support) from AHA (American Heart Association) Preferred: CMSRN Med/Surg EDUCATION: Required: Bachelors - Nursing, Preferred: Masters - Nursing
