Job Summary
Clinical nurse leader for a program or area of nursing practice. Utilizes specialized knowledge and skills within major areas of focus, such as patient / family, nurses and nursing practice, and the organization / system. Typically partners with the nurse manager in leading the nursing clinical practice area. This is the journey level for an advanced practice clinical nurse specialist.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $218,200 - $245,700 (Annual Rate).

Required Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years of recent clinical experience working preferably in an ambulatory primary care or inpatient setting with a focus on pediatric/adolescent populations as a Registered Nurse, Certified Nurse Specialist or Nurse Practitioner.
• Master of Science in Nursing
• In-depth knowledge of one or more clinical specialty areas, to include diagnoses, treatments, standards of practice and patient / family educational consulting and resources with a focus on pediatric and adolescent populations.
• Advanced knowledge of methodology for conducting evidence-based research, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills to assess highly complex issues and develop multiple options for resolution.
• Advanced interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide education, training, and direction to nursing staff, and to develop positive working relationships with patients, families, employees, and outside agencies as required.
• Excellent skills in written and verbal communications, with the ability to convey highly complex and / or sensitive information in a clear and concise manner.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Can receive and provide direction and collaborates with various positions and personnel levels within a complex organizational environment.
• Ability to be flexible and embrace change in a dynamic innovations program. Able to prioritize multiple deadlines and dependent activities.
• Ability to work remotely, in a safe and HIPAA compliant private space with adequate internet, cell phone, and electrical access.
• Knowledge and experience in complex care management with minimum of 2 years’ experience working with vulnerable populations.

License/Certification
• Registered Nurse in the State of California
• Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist in the State of CA
• Active American Heart Association CPR certification
• Current national board certification in relevant area by first working day:
• If NP prepared: AGNP, AGPCNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, GNP-BC, FNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, AGPCNP-BC, NBCHPN
• If CNS prepared: ACCNS-AG, AGCNS-BC
