As a nationally recognized tertiary and quaternary referral center, Barnes-Jewish performs a high volume of outpatient biliary procedures, including ERCP and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), in a fast-paced, collaborative setting. Nurses work closely with gastroenterology, anesthesia, and procedural teams to deliver efficient, high-quality care for both scheduled and urgent cases. The Clinical Nurses are integral to the patient experience, providing care from pre-procedure preparation through recovery and discharge, including sedation monitoring, procedural support, and patient education. In addition to seeing outpatient patients, nurses are also seeing emergent cases that might come in through the ED and travel cases in the ICU. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care. Responsibilities • Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post treatment home care needs and medication administration. • Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
