As a Registered Professional Nurse, you will assess, coordinate, plan, direct, implement, and manage the needs of surgical patients throughout their care journey, ensuring they progress smoothly towards discharge. Your advocacy for patients during surgical procedures is essential. You will be responsible for delivering and coordinating care in collaboration with the caregiving team, ensuring all patients receive competent and compassionate care. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: • Implement physician orders and administer medications to the sterile field while adhering to organizational policies and regulations. • Assess and evaluate patient needs and responses to the care provided. • Exercise sound nursing judgment in managing patient care decisions. • Guide and direct ancillary personnel to uphold professional nursing standards. • Act as an advocate for patients within the surgical environment. Minimum Qualifications: • Graduate of a professional academic nursing program with a Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree preferred. • Current New York State Registered Nurse license required. • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is necessary; CNOR certification is preferred. • 1-3 years of previous clinical nursing experience in a surgical setting preferred. • Knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving techniques is essential, demonstrating ability to apply them towards departmental and patient care improvement.
