Job Description: This role serves as a clinical leader within the nursing team, focusing on training and supervising nursing students and new staff. The Clinical Instructor will create a supportive learning environment and ensure that all team members are competent and confident in delivering high-quality patient care. • Deliver exceptional nursing care to the elderly patient population while taking on Charge Nurse responsibilities. • Delegate and oversee clinical care provided by licensed practical nurses and nursing assistants, ensuring adherence to established policies and practices. Review and approve assessments and care plans completed by licensed practical nurses, assist during emergencies, and provide support as needed. • Assess patient conditions and offer support to the care staff, promoting continuous improvement in care delivery. Collaborate with the floor manager to identify and implement process improvement strategies. • Coordinate care and care planning for assigned patients, facilitating meetings with families and multidisciplinary team members, including life enhancement and dietary specialists. Educational Responsibilities: • Act as a mentor and educator for new staff and students in clinical nursing programs. • Evaluate and support new nurses in implementing evidence-based practices, helping to develop their clinical skills through case study reviews, competency evaluations, and hands-on training. • Conduct regular check-ins with new nurses to monitor their adaptation to the nursing team and care environment. • Create a safe and positive working environment by modeling professional behavior and guiding staff in problem-solving and decision-making. • Enhance communication skills and deepen understanding of systems thinking among nursing staff. • Serve as adjunct faculty for partnered nursing schools, providing clinical instruction for rotation experiences. • Collaborate with professional development staff to promote educational initiatives, including: • Basic Life Support Instruction • IV Insertion and Maintenance • Dementia Specialty Courses • Safe Patient Handling Techniques • Wound Care Skills Training • Communication Skills Workshops Remote Type: On-site Hebrew SeniorLife is an equal opportunity employer.
