Under the general supervision of the Manager - Co-worker Health, the Co-worker Health Nurse performs daily activities to provide health services to Mercy co-workers. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Location: Mercy South

Hours: 24 hours weekly

Position Overview The Co-worker Health Nurse plays a vital role in supporting Mercy team members from day one. This position ensures the health and safety of our co-workers through comprehensive health services and compliance with regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Plan, organize, and manage all co-worker health services in alignment with federal and state regulations. Conduct health assessments for new hires, including drug testing, medical history review, lab work, chest X-rays (if indicated), and immunization verification. Administer and monitor TB screening programs in compliance with state requirements. Perform respirator fit testing and provide training as needed. Promote and administer annual influenza and other vaccines, ensuring co-workers are informed about contraindications, side effects, and precautions. Provide first aid and coordinate care for on-the-job injuries, working closely with departments to facilitate safe return-to-work plans. May serve as Workers' Compensation coordinator, managing injury reporting, treatment facilitation, and compliance with state regulations. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding health records, drug screens, and medical information. Prepare and present monthly and annual reports to meet Joint Commission and state health department requirements. Stay current on co-worker health regulations and update policies as needed. Support wellness and safety initiatives through committee participation. Communicate effectively with concise, accurate verbal and written updates. Perform duties in alignment with Mercy's mission, values, and service standards. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Licensure:

Current RN license in the state of practice. Experience:

Minimum 2 years hospital/clinical experience; 3 years current clinical experience preferred. Certifications:

Current BLS certification required. Education:

Bachelor's degree preferred. Skills:
