We pride ourselves on our commitment to going above and beyond for our individuals.Base starting hourly rate is $29.96/hrFLEXIBLE SCHEDULEPRN is approximately 20-30 hours per month at our various locationsJOB SUMMARY:Will provide oversight to ensure that normalized, empathetic, therapeutic, and preventative nursing are is provided for individuals with significant developmental disabilities, who are often medically complex. The Community RN will work in a residential setting. The Community RN will oversight care provided by LPN Clinical Nurse staff including but not limited to medication administration, head-to-toe body assessments, and health monitoring by focused body systems review. The community RN will complete various reporting requirements, and all other services within their scope of practice. The Community RN will provide direct care as needed. The Community RN may function in the role of Clinical Nurse and will be responsible to monitor the health and safety standards of their own caseloadsESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Provide complete nursing assessments or review nursing assessments completed by LPN Clinical Nurse. When providing oversight to LPN, it must include face to face observation of each resident and review of Health Summary by focused body systems.2. Review, interpret, and analyze lab results. Ensure that PBI's protocol for necessary labs and follow-ups is enforced.3. Review of physician's orders for appropriate signatures, accuracy and compliance.4. Review of medication administration records for accuracy and employee compliance, medication labels, monitor for side effects, effectiveness, frequency of PRN use, drug storage of routine and PRN medications, and check for supporting diagnosis.5. Review of records to include weight, immunizations records, bowels, vitals, blood sugar, dietary, fluids, seizure, menses, skin, range of motion, consultation reports, event reports for falls, injuries, medication errors, hospitalizations and ER reports, and significant change in behavior, etc.6. Initiate and/or review all formal Delegations of all tasks to non-licensed care staff based on best practice national guidelines as required by Department of Mental Health (DMH)7. All other duties as required.8. Make regular reports to the Director of Medical Services.9. Must be able to meet the minimum required 1.25 hours per month for each assigned resident. *May include 30 minutes of assessment & Health Summary completed by LPN.10. Must have reliable, consistent transportation to work site.JOB QUALIFICATIONS:1. Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience in a direct patient care setting: Skilled Nursing, Long Term Care, Nursing Home, Acute Care / Hospital2. Experience in developmental disabilities field preferred.3. Thorough knowledge of care principles affecting individuals with significant to profound developmental disabilities.4. Demonstrated supervisory and organizational skills.5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (ability to communicate both orally and in writing).6. Excellent keyboarding and software skills to keep computerized records.7. Ability to maintain confidential information.8. Knowledge of the care planning process.9. Proven ability to be flexible and responsive to consumer needs.10. Able to perform consumer transfers using assistive lifting devices.11. Must be able to take and give accurate verbal directions and telephone orders.12. Must be licensed to practice as a RN in the state of Missouri.13. Must be CPR certified.14.
