ICU Registered Nurse (RN) - CVICU Travel Assignment Job Summary Registered Nurse needed for a travel assignment in the CVICU unit at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, TX. The RN will provide high-quality patient care, with a focus on patients requiring hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, and post-operative cardiac care. Device training will be provided by the hospital. Key Responsibilities • Provide direct patient care in the CVICU setting. • Perform hemodynamic monitoring using swans and art lines. • Manage patients on ventilators. • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed. • Monitor and document patient status, reporting changes to the appropriate healthcare team members. • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans. • Assist with post-operative care for CABG, VAD, and Cath patients with cardiac support devices such as IABP, Impella, and ECMO. • Adhere to hospital policies and procedures. • Float to other units as needed per hospital policy. Required Qualifications • Active Texas RN license (NO TEMP LICENSE ACCEPTED). • Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU experience. • ACLS certification. • BLS certification. • NIH certification. • Strong critical thinking skills. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with IABP. • Experience with CRRT. • Experience with Meditech charting/order entry. Skills & Competencies • Proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring (swans, art lines). • Ventilator management skills. • Strong assessment and critical thinking abilities. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Shift Details • Rotating shifts: 7A-7:30P / 7P-7:30A • Rotating weekends. • Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Licensing Requirements • Active Texas RN License (NO TEMP LICENSE ACCEPTED)
