A registered nurse position is available for those experienced in medical-surgical nursing and interested in a correctional healthcare environment. Key Qualifications and Experience: • Minimum of 2 years recent acute care experience in medical-surgical nursing • Correctional facility nursing experience is preferred • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required • Must reside within 75 miles of the facility; local candidates are preferred • Pending nursing licenses will not be accepted for this role Responsibilities: • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients within a correctional facility • Document patient care in Cerner electronic health records efficiently and accurately • Float within the facility’s nursing departments as required to meet operational needs • Adhere to facility protocols and contribute to a safe, secure healthcare environment Schedule and Work Expectations: • 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (11:00 a.m. – 11:30 p.m.) • Guaranteed 36 hours weekly • Weekend coverage required every other weekend (2 weekends per month) • Time off requests limited to a maximum of 5 days, with no more than 2 consecutive; restrictions around holidays and weekends • No call responsibilities Additional Information: • Uniform scrub color: Navy blue • Free parking available on a first-come, first-served basis • Facility is located in Arlington Heights, Illinois, a vibrant suburb known for its excellent community amenities, easy access to Chicago, and a variety of dining and shopping options This contract opportunity is ideal for nursing professionals who thrive in dynamic, structured environments and are committed to delivering compassionate care.
