Provide skilled registered nursing care within a correctional healthcare environment, supporting patient assessment, treatment, and coordination of care. This role requires adaptability to a correctional facility’s unique demands and a commitment to maintaining safety and quality patient outcomes. Responsibilities: • Deliver comprehensive nursing care during assigned 12-hour shifts (11:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.), three days per week. • Perform patient assessments, administer medications, and document care accurately using the Cerner charting system. • Collaborate with healthcare team members, ensuring compliance with facility policies and correctional regulations. • Float within the facility as needed, supporting various units while working autonomously. • Maintain safety awareness, adhering to correctional security protocols, and ensuring the wellbeing of patients and staff. Qualifications and Experience: • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license. • Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care experience in Medical/Surgical nursing; correctional experience preferred. • BLS certification required and must be current. • Ability to work the specified shift: three 12-hour shifts, 11 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. • Willingness to float within facility units as mandated. • Locals preferred; candidates must reside within 75 miles of the facility. • Pending licenses will not be accepted. Schedule and Requirements: • 3x12-hour shifts per week with guaranteed 36 hours. • Weekend commitment: every other weekend (2 weekends per month). • Return-to-Office (RTO) limited to 5 days max, with no more than 2 consecutive days off. • No shifts off the day before or after holidays, nor on weekends. • No block scheduling accommodations.
