Position Overview:
As a Registered Nurse, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in a challenging and supportive environment. With opportunities to float between units, you will gain diverse experiences all while being part of a caring team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Continuously assess patients’ physical and psychosocial conditions throughout their care journey.
• Create, communicate, and document personalized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Implement and coordinate care plans, adjusting based on patient responses and readiness for discharge.
• Identify educational needs for patients and families, and provide necessary resources and documentation.
• Act as a preceptor for new staff, sharing your knowledge and best practices.
• Occasionally take on charge nurse responsibilities, overseeing unit activities.
• Meet and exceed performance expectations in customer service, teamwork, and self-development.
• Perform specialized procedures and assessments, including airway management and care for patients with specific needs.
• Stay current with educational programs related to patient care.
Qualifications:
• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
• Proficient in electronic patient record systems and internet literature searches.
• Valid Connecticut Registered Nurse License.
• BLS certification required.
