Critical Care Registered Nurse - Arlington Heights, Illinois in Arlington Heights, IL

A dynamic opportunity is available for an experienced registered nurse specializing in intensive care unit (ICU) care. This contract position is based in Arlington Heights, IL, offering a 3x12 hour day shift schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., designed to provide a balanced and predictable work routine. Responsibilities: • Provide expert nursing care across various ICU units including Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, and Neuro ICU. • Float within ICU and potentially medical-surgical units as necessary to meet patient care demands. • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. • Participate in an orientation and precepting week on day shift to familiarize with unit protocols. • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, including charting on Cerner electronic health records. Qualifications and Desired Experience: • Minimum 2 years of recent acute care nursing experience within an ICU setting. • Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS). • Ability to float across multiple ICU specialty areas. • Reside within 75 miles of Arlington Heights, IL; local candidates preferred. • Active, unrestricted RN license required; no pending licenses accepted. Work Schedule and Requirements: • Shift: 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., 3 shifts per week. • Weekend commitment: every other weekend (2 weekends per month). • Limited request for time off with specific restrictions around holidays and weekends. • The facility requires staff to wear navy blue scrubs.
