Job Description
An opportunity is available for an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to provide critical care nursing services in a hospital setting. This is a contract position based in Blue Springs, MO, requiring dedication to high-quality patient care during 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
• Active RN license.
• Minimum of two years ICU nursing experience.
• Experience caring for CTS (cardiothoracic surgery) and Neuro patients preferred.
• Prior work in a Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Center is desirable.
• Certifications required: BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale).
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification is preferred.
• Ability to float to Stepdown/PCU units as needed.
• Availability to work every third weekend and holidays (one major and one minor).
• Willingness to participate in on-call push back and cancellation protocols depending on patient census.
• New graduates will not be considered for this role.
Responsibilities:
• Deliver comprehensive ICU nursing care to critically ill patients.
• Monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Support trauma and neuro patient care protocols.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation.
• Participate in orientation and training sessions as required.
Schedule:
• 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM 7:00 AM).
• Rotating weekends and holidays as specified.
