Job Description
A critical care nursing opportunity is available in Corona, CA, offering a contract position in a complex ICU setting. This role focuses on delivering high-level patient care in the Surgical and Medical Intensive Care Units (SICU/MICU), treating critically ill patients requiring specialized nursing expertise. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients in the MICU (35 beds) and SICU (34 beds) with patient-to-nurse ratios of 1:1 or 1:2
• Manage and titrate complex drips and advanced monitoring equipment including telemonitoring and pulmonary artery catheters
• Perform specialized procedures such as tracheostomy care, chest tube insertion, intubation, bronchoscopy, and manage mechanical and non-invasive ventilation
• Utilize documentation systems (Meditech) for accurate patient charting
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered care and improve outcomes
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
• Registered Nurse (RN) with ICU experience exceeding 1 year
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale
• Proficiency in advanced clinical skills: arterial line management, central venous catheter care, cardiac monitoring, chest drainage, dialysis (SLED and CRRT), EVD and lumbar drain management
• Trauma experience and neuro-management skills highly valued
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, with floating capability to Telemetry and Step-down units
