An opportunity is available for an experienced ICU registered nurse to provide critical care support in a high-acuity academic medical center setting. This contract role, based in Haughton, LA, offers a 3-night per week schedule on 12-hour shifts (18:45 to 07:15), providing dedicated overnight care in a dynamic Neuro ICU environment with a manageable patient ratio of 1:2. Responsibilities: • Deliver specialized nursing care to adult patients in the Neuro ICU with complex neurological conditions. • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement evidence-based treatment plans. • Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations, including participation in designated emergency response teams within the facility. • Maintain accurate documentation utilizing electronic health records systems. • Adhere strictly to protocols for patient safety and infection control. • Demonstrate flexibility to float between Neuro ICU and other ICU units as staffing needs demand. Qualifications: • Active RN license with a minimum of 2 years ICU nursing experience, preferably in Neurology or Neurosurgery critical care. • Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and CPI are required. • Experience with Epic electronic medical record software highly preferred. • Willingness to work alternating weekends. • First-time travel nurses with ICU experience are encouraged to apply. • Ability to remain on-site during emergency events as assigned by unit management.
