Job Description
A nursing opportunity is available in Holualoa, HI, seeking skilled Registered Nurses with ICU experience for a contract role. This position primarily involves caring for adult ICU patients in a dynamic hospital environment with occasional stable pediatric cases. The facility operates a 9-bed ICU with a nurse-to-patient ratio typically 1:2, adjusting based on patient acuity to 1:1 or up to 1:4 during med/surg overflow.
Schedule and hours:
• 12-hour shifts (day or night)
• 72 hours every two weeks
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill adult patients, ensuring adherence to ICU protocols
• Monitor patient status, administer medications, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans
• Serve as charge nurse when assigned, receiving additional compensation
• Support other hospital departments as needed without primary patient responsibility
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
• Current RN licensure with ICU experience
• Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is mandatory
• Ability to manage critical care patients effectively under varying nurse-to-patient ratios
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
