
Critical Care Registered Nurse | Marion, South Carolina in Marion, SC
Job Description
This opportunity calls for a skilled Registered Nurse with ICU experience to provide exceptional care in a Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) setting. The position offers a contract assignment in Marion, South Carolina, supporting an acute care hospital with 276 staffed beds. The role is structured around three 12-hour day shifts per week, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., including every other weekend and holiday rotation, fostering work-life balance and team collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the MICU
• Maintain patient safety and comfort by closely monitoring vital signs and responding to changes in condition
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Adhere to hospital protocols and regulatory guidelines, utilizing electronic charting systems (Epic)
• Float within similar units as needed to support patient care priorities and hospital operations
Qualifications & Experience:
• Current South Carolina nursing license or a compact nursing license in hand before assignment start
• Minimum of one year, preferably two, of ICU nursing experience in a critical care environment
• Certifications required: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Proven ability to manage a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio effectively
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills aligned with acute care settings
• Previous travel nurse experience preferred (first-time travelers are not accepted)

Additional Details:
• Floating responsibilities between like units are expected, following current staff nurse protocols

• Flexibility around block scheduling may be requested but is subject to approval based on facility needs
• The facility follows a policy allowing one call-off shift every two weeks
