
Critical Care Registered Nurse - Riverside, California in Riverside, CA
Job Description
Provide critical care nursing expertise in a dynamic Intensive Care Unit (ICU) environment within a well-regarded healthcare facility in Riverside, CA. This contract position offers the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team managing complex patient cases across Surgical ICU (SICU) and Medical ICU (MICU) units equipped with advanced technology and a supportive staff.
Responsibilities include:
• Deliver expert care to critically ill patients with a focus on titration of drips, neurological management, trauma response, trach care, and both non-invasive and mechanical ventilation.
• Perform procedures such as chest tube insertion, tracheostomy care, bronchoscopy assistance, and intubation.
• Manage advanced monitoring and lines including arterial lines (A-line), central venous catheters (CVC), pulmonary artery catheters, lumbar drains, and external ventricular drains (EVD).
• Utilize hospital documentation systems and adhere to unit-specific guidelines to ensure compliance and quality patient care.
Qualifications:
• Registered Nurse (RN) with at least one year ICU experience.
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications required.
• Proficiency in critical care nursing skills including chest drainage, urinary catheter insertion, dialysis modalities such as SLED and CRRT, and hemodynamic monitoring.
• Ability to work three 12-hour shifts with flexibility to float to Telemetry, Step-Down, or other ICU units as needed.
• Familiarity with the use of telemonitoring, EV1000, bladder scanner, and ventilators.
