Critical Care Registered Nurse | Verona, Wisconsin in Verona, WI

An opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse with critical care expertise to provide specialized nursing care on a neuroscience critical care unit. This role involves caring for adult patients facing complex neurological and neurosurgical conditions, including stroke, traumatic brain injury, hydrocephalus, cerebral aneurysm, and other neurovascular diseases. The position requires strong critical thinking skills, proficiency with advanced ICU interventions such as vasoactive drips and hemodynamic monitoring, and familiarity with feeding tubes and drains. Qualifications & Desired Experience: • Valid Wisconsin nursing license or compact license from permanent address state • Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association • Minimum two years of acute care nursing experience within the last three years • Prior ICU experience is required; neurosurgery or neuroscience critical care experience preferred • Recent Epic electronic health record system experience (within the last 12 months preferred) • Basic arrhythmia knowledge with a requirement to pass a Telemetry test before starting • Ability and willingness to care for both ICU and intermediate care (IMC) patient populations • Travelers must reside within 50 miles of the primary worksite and be prepared to float to various units as staffing needs require Location This role is based at a Magnet-designated university hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. The area provides a variety of transportation options including bus services, park & ride facilities, and private parking availability requiring permits.
