CVICU Registered Nurse - Keaau, HI in Hawaiian Acres, HI

Providing critical nursing care in a dynamic healthcare environment, this role is based in Keaau, HI, within a 15-bed Progressive Care Unit that combines step-down ICU and telemetry services. Responsibilities:
• Deliver primary nursing care with expertise in telemetry monitoring, including telemetry strip interpretation and fingerstick blood sugar testing
• Utilize medical technology such as Meditech charting and Pyxis medication systems to ensure accurate patient documentation and medication administration
• Provide care on a progressive 15-bed unit including 3 step-down ICU beds and 12 telemetry beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 in progressive care and 1:3 in step-down ICU
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and float as needed to other acute units, including medical, surgical/pediatric, ICU, and emergency departments
• Adhere to professional dress codes and maintain a commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based care

Qualifications:
• Minimum of 1 year acute care hospital nursing experience within the past year, with emphasis on progressive care and telemetry preferred
• Active RN license for the state of Hawaii required or must obtain before assignment start
• Current ACLS certification preferred; PALS and NIHSS certifications are also preferred
• Must be available to arrive on the Thursday prior to the start date for a required employee health appointment

Schedule:
• 36 scheduled hours per week following orientation
• No call requirement
• Contract assignment with no guarantee of hours beyond schedule

This position requires punctuality for orientation scheduling and flexibility with floating between units. Scrubs are required as the dress code.
