A specialized nursing opportunity is available for experienced Registered Nurses with Pediatric Cardiac and CVICU expertise in North Charleston, SC. This role supports a renowned Pediatric Cardiology Intensive Care Unit (PCICU), a 29-bed, Beacon Award-winning unit known for exceptional outcomes and advanced pediatric cardiac care. Location Overview: Located in North Charleston, SC, this position is set within a leading Level I Trauma and teaching hospital, recognized as a Magnet facility. The PCICU is a referral center for major pediatric cardiac surgeries throughout South Carolina, offering cutting-edge treatments including ventricular assist devices, ECMO, CRRT, heart transplant care, and pediatric palliative support. Key Responsibilities: • Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients with congenital heart disease in an intensive care setting • Deliver care for post-operative cardiac surgery patients, including those requiring advanced cardiac and respiratory support • Manage patient care with a focus on safety, utilizing a 1:1 or 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio based on acuity • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including respiratory therapists, dietitians, and pharmacists • Use EPIC for documentation and patient charting • Flexibility to float within units as needed to meet facility demands Qualifications and Experience: • Active SC or Multi-State Compact RN license • Minimum of 2 years’ Pediatric Cardiac ICU experience required; CV experience essential • PALS and BLS certifications from the American Heart Association required; ACLS preferred • Experience with Ventricular Assist Devices highly preferred • First-time PCICU nurses with relevant pediatric critical care background considered Schedule: • Rotating 3x12-hour shifts (Days 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM & Nights 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) • 4 weekend shifts per 4-week cycle with holiday rotation • Local candidates within 60 miles welcome Additional Information: • Parking available with permit purchase, located conveniently near hospital grounds • This unit does not accept travel pairs and may cancel one shift every two weeks based on staffing needs • Contract opportunity with the potential for block schedule accommodations Take the next step in your nursing career by applying for this challenging and rewarding role within a nationally recognized pediatric cardiac intensive care environment.
