CVICU RN - Apex, North Carolina in Apex, NC

An exciting opportunity is available for a registered nurse with cardiovascular intensive care unit experience or related pediatric care expertise to provide high-quality nursing services in a fast-paced critical care environment. This contract position is well-suited for motivated RNs holding an active NC or Compact nursing license who thrive in dynamic clinical settings and are ready to contribute to exceptional patient care. Location: This role is based in Apex, North Carolina, a vibrant and growing community known for its charming historic downtown, excellent schools, and scenic parks. Responsibilities: • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a cardiovascular ICU setting, with a focus on critical pediatric or neonatal populations preferred • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to implement care plans and monitor patient progress • Support floating assignments within pediatric intensive care units as needed, drawing upon PICU or pediatric stepdown experience • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, including mandatory flu vaccination compliance • Work night shifts on a 3x12-hour schedule (7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.) with every other weekend required Qualifications & Experience: • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in PCICU; NICU and pediatric stepdown nurses with PICU floating skills are encouraged to apply • Current, unrestricted nursing license in North Carolina or Compact License jurisdiction • Certification in BLS and PALS required • Ability to work weekends and float to other pediatric critical care units • Flu vaccine compliance mandatory This contract position offers a chance to expand clinical expertise in a supportive environment with bi-weekly orientation sessions.
