Job Description
Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse skilled in Progressive Care and Telemetry to support patient care in a 15-bed unit specializing in progressive and step-down ICU services. This contract position is located in Mountain View, HI, requiring a dedicated nurse capable of providing exceptional care in a fast-paced clinical setting.
Location Overview:Mountain View offers beautiful landscapes and a welcoming community, providing a tranquil environment to work and live surrounded by Hawaiis natural beauty. The area combines the charm of small-town living with access to essential amenities and outdoor activities.
Responsibilities:
• Deliver primary nursing care and monitor patients using telemetry equipment.
• Accurately interpret telemetry strips and perform fingerstick blood sugar tests.
• Utilize Meditech for charting and handle medications via Pyxis systems.
• Operate BIPAP and continuous cardiac monitoring devices in a 15-bed Progressive Care step-down ICU (3 step-down ICU beds, 12 telemetry beds).
• Float across other acute units such as Medical, Surgical/Pediatrics, ICU, and Emergency departments as needed.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
• Possess a current Hawaii RN license by the assignment start date (travelers must apply immediately upon acceptance if not already licensed).
• Minimum of 1 year acute hospital experience within the past year, with a preference for progressive care and telemetry background.
• ACLS certification preferred; current PALS and NIHSS certification also beneficial.
• Comfortable working within a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio in Progressive Care and 1:3 in step-down ICU.
Schedule & Hours:
• Scheduled to work 36 hours per week after orientation.
• No call required.
• Must arrive Thursday before start date to complete employee health appointment on Friday.
Dress Code:
• Scrubs required.
