CVICU RN - Volcano, Hawaii in Mauna Loa Estates, HI

A rewarding opportunity is available for a registered nurse with critical care and telemetry expertise to provide exceptional care in a progressive care setting. This role is based in Volcano, HI, and offers valuable experience working in a dynamic 15-bed Progressive Care Unit comprising step-down ICU and telemetry beds.

Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:
• Minimum of 1 year recent acute hospital care experience
• Prior experience in progressive care and telemetry preferred
• Strong skills in primary nursing care, telemetry monitoring, and interpreting telemetry strips
• Ability to perform fingerstick blood sugar testing
• Familiarity with Meditech for charting, Pyxis medication dispensing, BIPAP, and continuous cardiac monitoring preferred
• Current ACLS certification preferred; PALS and NIHSS certifications are a plus
• Must hold or obtain an active State of Hawaii nursing license before starting assignment

Responsibilities:
• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in a 15-bed Progressive Care Unit
• Manage telemetry monitoring with accurate strip reading and documentation
• Utilize specialized equipment to support patients respiratory and cardiac function
• Collaborate with healthcare team members while floating to other acute units as needed, including medical, surgical/pediatrics, ICU, and emergency departments
• Follow established protocols and charting practices to ensure high standards of care

Schedule:
• Scheduled for 36 hours per week after orientation
• No call responsibilities

Additional Notes:
• Must arrive the Thursday before start date for employee health appointment on Friday
• Candidates who cannot meet this requirement should not accept the start date
• Contract assignment; flexibility to relocate or travel required
