CVOR Registered Nurse - Rockville, Maryland in Rockville, MD

A registered nurse with specialized cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) experience is needed for a dynamic role located in Rockville, MD. This contract position offers a structured 13-week assignment with a focus on delivering exceptional perioperative care across a variety of surgical specialties, including Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, and General Surgery. Responsibilities: • Provide professional nursing care to patients undergoing cardiovascular surgical procedures. • Serve in both circulating and scrub roles within the CVOR, supporting complex surgeries with precision. • Collaborate closely with surgical teams, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes. • Participate in on-call rotations requiring availability during evenings, weekends, and holidays. • Float within the specialty, supporting general OR as needed based on case volume. • Adhere to all safety, regulatory, and infection control procedures. Qualifications and Desired Experience: • Active registered nurse license for the Maryland state. • Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience; candidates with strong general OR background and exposure to Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, and General Surgery are welcome, including first-time travelers. • Proven experience in both circulating and scrub roles within the CVOR setting. • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred. • Willingness to work 4x10-hour day shifts (06:45 – 17:15) with occasional early starts for multiple heart cases. • Availability to fulfill weekend and on-call requirements, including 10-15 on-call shifts per contract. Schedule: • Monday to Thursday, 10-hour day shifts. • Weekend and holiday coverage as scheduled. • On-call responsibilities split evenly among staff.
