Provide expert nursing care in a specialized cardiovascular operating room setting, supporting a range of complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical procedures. This contract position demands a skilled professional capable of managing high-acuity cases, including coronary artery bypass grafting, valve repairs, heart transplantation, and advanced mechanical circulatory support. Location: Round Rock, TX Responsibilities: • Deliver proficient perioperative nursing care in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) service line. • Assist with surgical interventions including open heart surgeries, thoracic procedures (laparoscopic, robotic-assisted, open), and vascular operations. • Manage equipment and patient care for procedures involving cardiopulmonary bypass, ventricular assist devices, ECMO, TAVR, and vascular access placements. • Participate in call coverage after hours, including weekends and holidays, to ensure continuous patient care. • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary surgical teams in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications/Desired Experience: • Minimum of 3 years recent full-time experience as a CVOR nurse in a high-volume hospital setting. • Demonstrated proficiency in cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical procedures. • Current ACLS certification preferred. • Verifiable references from at least two recent assignments confirming independent functioning without extensive onboarding. • Ability to perform reliably and independently in a dynamic surgical environment. Schedule/Hours: • 10-hour day shifts, Tuesday through Friday. • Participation in call rotation after normal business hours, weekends, and holidays required.
