An experienced Registered Nurse with a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) background is needed for a contract position in Ypsilanti, MI. This role focuses on providing high-quality care to adult cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgery patients, including those with complex and high acuity conditions. Key Responsibilities: • Provide perioperative nursing care for adult cardiac, vascular, and thoracic patients undergoing surgeries such as Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG), Valve replacements, Aortic Aneurysm Repair, ECMO, Heart and Lung Transplants, VATS procedures, and complex vascular surgeries. • Participate in a rotating shift schedule including Day and Evening rotations (2x8s and 2x12s) or optional 5x8s. • Maintain readiness for call shifts requiring 2-4 weeknight shifts and 1-2 weekend shifts per four-week schedule, with no call shift exceeding 12 hours to preserve work-life balance. • Collaborate with a supportive medical team to ensure positive patient outcomes and effective unit dynamics. Qualifications and Experience: • Minimum of 2 years CVOR RN experience with proficiency in scrub techniques rated 3 or 4 on skills assessment. • Previous travel nursing experience preferred. • Ability to manage adult cardiac surgery, vascular, and thoracic patient care, including highly specialized procedures and devices (e.g., ECMO, MCS devices). • Flexible and professional approach to rotating shifts and on-call requirements.
