This opportunity is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) within a Level 1 trauma-focused acute care environment. The role requires proficiency in scrubbing and circulating for cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical procedures, including open and endovascular vascular cases, as well as transplant and pancreatic surgeries. Candidates with two or more years of relevant experience are preferred, although those with one year at a Level 1 trauma facility may be considered. Location: Position is based in O’Fallon, Missouri, providing access to a vibrant community with diverse recreational, dining, and cultural amenities just outside the metropolitan St. Louis area. Qualifications & Desired Experience: • Registered Nurse (RN) license, with pending licenses accepted • Minimum 2 years CVOR scrub and circulate experience; 1 year if Level 1 trauma experience • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required • Experience with cardiac and thoracic surgical cases, plus vascular, transplant, and pancreatic procedures • Ability to work rotating shifts including early mornings and nights • Willingness to participate in weekend and holiday on-call rotation as needed • BSN preferred • Flexibility to float within service line to meet operational needs Responsibilities: • Provide expert nursing care in the CVOR setting for cardiac, thoracic, vascular, transplant, and pancreatic surgeries • Scrub and circulate during complex surgical procedures • Adhere to strict infection control and patient safety standards • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes • Maintain thorough documentation utilizing EPIC electronic charting system Schedule & Hours: • Rotating 12-hour shifts starting as early as 06:15 AM, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled • Call shifts approximately 3-4 weekdays and 1-2 weekends per 6-week cycle, adjusted per unit needs Additional Information: • Parking is available with monthly passes at nearby garages; night shift parking is complimentary • Orientation includes parking in a designated garage with associated fees This contract position offers the chance to engage in a challenging and rewarding surgical nursing role at a prominent healthcare facility staffed with experienced professionals.
