Responsibilities
Direct services, workflow and resource for one or more of the assigned specialty nursing areas:
Cardiovascular/Cath Lab, Surgical Services, Emergency/Triage, Endoscopy, Adult or Pediatric/NeoNatal Critical Care, Labor & Delivery/Women & Family.
• Develop departmental goals and objectives consistent with medical, administrative, legal and ethical requirements of the health care delivery system.
• Direct clinical activities, including patient assessment, care plan development, service level determination, patient visits, and complaint management.
• Prepare and monitor budget(s) and ensures that the assigned nursing area operates within allocated funds.
• Coordinate and direct internally and externally-driven audits.
• Work collaboratively with physicians, administration and directors to develop streamlined operations where equipment, supplies and staff are utilized efficiently and resourcefully.
• Remove obstacles to achieving clinical quality, service excellence and financial effectiveness targets.
• Conduct hiring, training, directing, development and evaluation of staff.
Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross Accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job
transfer date required.
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in nursing or diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required. Master's degree or combination of Bachelor's degree and experience preferred.
Additional Preferences
• At least 10 years previous surgical services leadership strongly preferred
• Proven experince in director-level or higher roles preferred
• Proficient in productivity and labor management
• Skilled in crucial conversations
• Adept at building strong, collaborative relationships with teams
