Be a part of Connecticut's most comprehensive healthcare network. Job Summary: As an Emergency Department Registered Nurse, you will provide exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment. You will assess and fulfill the needs of patients with a focus on both physical and behavioral health, adhering to established policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities: • Conduct initial and ongoing bio-psychosocial assessments aligned with nursing best practices; develop a tailored nursing care plan. • Collaborate in treatment team discussions to establish and update individual goals, objectives, and interventions based on each patient's unique needs. • Implement the nursing care plan for assigned patients and facilitate group therapy sessions. • Continuously evaluate patient responses to interventions and adjust care plans as necessary in collaboration with the treatment team. • Perform thorough patient assessments to identify comprehensive needs and deliver personalized care. • Document detailed nursing care plans in partnership with patients and their families to address all aspects of care. • Administer patient care per physician orders and established protocols, ensuring compliance and documentation standards. • Recognize changes in patient conditions and adjust the nursing care plan accordingly. • Delegate appropriate care tasks to other nursing staff consistent with their skills and training to enhance patient outcomes. • Demonstrate the expertise necessary to care for patients across the behavioral health spectrum and cooperate effectively within the interdisciplinary team. • Complete additional duties as assigned. • Maintain adherence to ANA Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice. Qualifications: • Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license from the Connecticut Department of Public Health prior to the start date. • Current BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required within 60 days of hire. • An Associate’s Degree is required; a Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. • Prior experience in an acute care psychiatric setting is preferred. • Demonstrated leadership abilities; able to manage challenging patient situations using approved methods.
