Summary:
If you are a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse, we invite you to apply to join our Emergency Department team. As an Emergency Nurse, you will provide both routine and advanced patient care, demonstrating your ability to make sound clinical decisions and manage complex situations. You will be given the opportunity to develop your skills further and take on responsibilities, including patient assessment and medication administration, to ensure high-quality care for our patients.
Responsibilities:
• Exceed the expectations outlined in the OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provide comprehensive nursing care according to the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, utilizing the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for your assigned patients.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families as per your nursing practice level.
• Administer medications and treatments following protocols, and monitor for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient histories, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and in a timely manner.
• Identify learning needs and provide education for patients, families, and caregivers, as well as available resources.
Job Requirements:
Education/Skills:
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred.
Experience:
• One year of experience in a related nursing specialty is preferred.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:
• BLS certification is required.
• Current RN License in the state of employment or compact is required.
Position Requirements:
• All newly hired experienced RNs must participate in New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.
• New hires will undergo preceptorship with a designated trained staff member, with successful completion of orientation requirements verified through competency validations.
• Newly licensed RNs may join a residency program to enhance their skills and knowledge; skill and competency completions will be validated at the bedside.
• Completion of all annual competency verification requirements is necessary.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:
• Current ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications are required.
In accordance with the CHRISTUS Health License, Certification, and Registration Verification Policy, you are expected to obtain the necessary certifications within a designated timeframe.
