Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) in Branchville, CT

As a Registered Nurse in our Emergency Department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to behavioral health patients. This position involves rotating shifts (Day/Night) from 7a-7:30pm and 7p-7:30am, with every other weekend and holiday responsibilities. Job Responsibilities: • Conduct initial and ongoing bio-psychosocial assessments in line with nursing practices. • Develop individualized nursing plans based on the master treatment plan. • Engage in treatment team conferences to help plan and modify patient care objectives. • Implement nursing care plans and co-lead group therapy sessions. • Evaluate patient responses to care and update the nursing plan as necessary. • Identify patient needs across physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual domains. • Collaborate with the treatment team to adjust goals and interventions based on patient status changes. • Document comprehensive patient care plans in conjunction with patients and their families. • Deliver direct care according to physician orders and protocols. • Recognize and respond to changes in patients' conditions effectively. • Delegate care responsibilities to other nursing staff according to their qualifications. • Exhibit the necessary knowledge and skills for caring for behavioral health patients and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. Qualifications: • Must hold a valid RN license from the Connecticut Department of Public Health. • Current BLS certification from the AHA or American Red Cross required within 60 days of hire. • Associate's Degree in nursing is required; Bachelor's Degree preferred. • Experience in acute care psychiatric settings is preferred. • Demonstrate leadership and ability to manage challenging patient situations.
