Work Schedule
• Night shift
• 7 p.m. - 7:30 a.m.: 56 hours/2 weeks
• Every third weekend
• One summer and one winter holiday rotation
Pay
Hourly range for this position: $38.29 - $61.16, based on experience.

Role Overview
The Emergency Department Registered Nurse is responsible for providing effective and individualized nursing care to patients admitted to the emergency department, ensuring safety and quality of service.
Key Responsibilities
• Fulfill RN duties consistently, even when floating to other areas.
• Utilize critical thinking to integrate best practices with patient data for optimal care decisions.
• Identify clinical changes and communicate swiftly with the care team using SBAR format.
• Incorporate patients and their families in care planning, ensuring their educational needs are met.
• Support colleagues and new staff in their learning and development.
• Commit to ongoing professional growth and stay updated on nursing standards.
• Engage in patient rounds and support service excellence initiatives.
• Participate in quality improvement by adhering to best practices, achieving positive outcomes.
• Coordinate care across different phases with physicians effectively.
• Prepare the unit for emergency situations, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Contribute to the trauma program’s development in line with MDH Level III designation.
• Familiarize with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and assist physicians with EHR modules.
• Participate in DECON drills and necessary training programs.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Act as Unit Charge Nurse as needed, overseeing care and interactions within the unit.
• Investigate patient care concerns and report them appropriately for quality enhancement.
• Immediately report high-risk situations to nursing leadership.
Required Qualifications
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license from the state of practice
• 1-3 years of experience in Emergency, ICU, or other acute care settings
