Job Description
An opportunity is available for an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse to provide expert care within a Level 1 Trauma setting. This contract role involves working 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week (7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.), including weekdays and every other weekend, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care to a diverse population from infants to geriatrics.
Responsibilities include managing neurological, orthopedic, psychiatric, and renal emergencies with a special focus on trauma cases. The unit maintains a 4:1 patient ratio in a 24-bed emergency department that also handles a high psychiatric patient population without a separate psych area. The role may involve floating within scope to meet facility needs, with blocked schedules and facility approval for certain radius rule cases.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in emergency specialty required
• Valid WV or Compact RN license; pending licenses are acceptable initially but must be active before start
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and CPI (CPI can be completed through Qualivis prior to start)
• Proficient in IV starts and telemetry monitoring
• Acceptance of first-time travelers with appropriate experience considered
• Ability to work every other weekend; no call requirements

• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Orientation/start dates held every other Thursday
